The Portland Trail Blazers finally rebounded, with Shaedon Sharpe and Robert Williams III returning and exceeding expectations. But as soon as they got Sharpe and Williams back into the rotation in mid-November, contributing to a three-game winning streak (two of which came in RW3), the injury episode hit Portland again.

The Blazers have several key players on the injury report, including Donovan Clingan, Jerami Grant, Matisse Thybulle, Scoot Henderson, Kris Murray and (again) Williams. Despite their depleted roster, the Blazers were able to pull off an upset at home against the Sacramento Kings on Friday. Portland’s 115-106 victory over the Kings kept them alive in the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup.

However, they could have their hands full against the reigning Western Conference champions, the Dallas Mavericks. But that mostly has to do with which superstars are available for Dallas, as both Luka Doncic and Klay Thompson appear on the injury report.

Here is the Blazers’ injury report from November 30:

Of the three players already ruled out, Williams is the one most likely to return once he clears concussion protocol. Donovan Clingan is scheduled to be re-evaluated in two weeks after suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain. Matisse Thybulle is expected to miss three to six weeks after suffering a grade two right ankle sprain.

Jerami Grant (knee) and Scoot Henderson (quad) missed Friday’s game and are listed as questionable. Both players’ status will be updated on this website as the game approaches.

Kris Murray played 16 minutes against Sacramento; He is considered probable and is expected to play again against Dallas.

UPDATE: Jerami Grant and Kris Murray are available. Scoot Henderson is out.

The players on the Mavericks’ injury report for December include some superstar headliners, including Doncic (wrist) and Thompson (foot). Doncic and Thompson missed Saturday’s game in the Mavericks’ 106-94 win over the Utah Jazz and are in serious danger of missing Sunday’s game against the Blazers.

Doncic returned to practice earlier this week, giving some optimism that he can go, but it remains to be seen and could come down to a game-time decision.

In addition to Doncic and Thompson, the other Mavericks on the injury report include Naji Marshall and Dante Exum. Marshall is a game-time decision after he suffered an illness and had to leave the game against the Jazz in the second half. Meanwhile, Exum underwent wrist surgery two months ago and is expected to be out until after the new year. The expected return date is January 20th.

UPDATE: Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, Dereck Lively II and Kyrie Irving are out. Luka Doncic is available.

The Blazers-Mavericks game will not be televised nationally. However, it can be viewed over-the-air, via BlazerVision’s streaming option, or via NBA LeaguePass (blackout restrictions apply).

BlazerVision is available to fans residing in Oregon and Washington for $19.99/month or $120/season. For those who choose to broadcast wirelessly, the game is available for free as long as you have an antenna.

Here’s the full streaming guide where to watch depending on your region. The game is available on KATU Charge!: Channel 2.2 in the Portland area.

After a challenging home game against the Mavericks, the Blazers continue their West campaign on the road at the new Intuit Dome against the Los Angeles Clippers, who defeated the Blazers earlier in the season on October 30th in a 106-105 barnburner.
