Mace tells Crockett to “go outside” during the heated argument with House.

These are fighting words.

There was chaos in the House Oversight Committee on Tuesday after Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., challenged Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, to a fight.

“If you want to take it outside, we can do that,” Mace said.

The argument was sparked when Crockett said “kid, listen” during a back-and-forth about civil rights, women’s rights and transgender rights.

“Someone is having problems with their campaign finances right now. So she’s going to keep saying ‘Trans, Trans, Trans’ to make people feel threatened and child, listen,” Crockett said.

Mace exploded in anger.

“I am not a child! Don’t call me a child! I am not a child. “Don’t even start,” Mace said, interrupting Crockett. “I am a grown woman. I am 47 years old. I’ve broken through more glass ceilings than you ever have… You won’t do that. I’m not a child… If you want to take it outside, we can do that.”

The two chatted while House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., tried to control the chaos by banging his gavel.

“Order! Order! Order!” the members were heard saying.

Crockett later attacked Republicans, accusing them of persecuting “the most vulnerable in our country.”

She said: “Trans people aren’t going anywhere. Just like when racists wanted to make sure that black people in this country were somehow dismissed. We’re not gone either.”

Mace later went to X to continue her war of words with Crockett.

“I am not a child. And if I wanted a physical fight, you would know. That’s not what that was,” she wrote. “I will not be bullied by someone who wants to take away women’s rights while lecturing on civil rights. I will not be bullied by someone who thinks fear of rape is a ‘fantasy.'” This isn’t political, it’s personal.

Mace further attempted to clarify her comments in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“During a heated exchange about women’s rights at Oversight today, there was much speculation about my intentions,” she said in the statement. “Let me be clear: I wanted to have the conversation away from the plenary to have a more constructive conversation, not to argue. At no time was there any intention to harm anyone. I was just attacked by a professional trainer a few weeks ago and am still in physical therapy for my injuries. I know firsthand how the left is capable of causing real physical harm. I will not be insulted by my colleagues like I was today. I will not be demeaned or invalidated – especially as a rape survivor, I will always stand up for women and stand up against left-wing extremism that seeks to silence our voices and disregard our rights.”

Crockett went too

Crockett’s office also responded to Mace, claiming it was clear that Mace was threatening Crockett with physical violence.

“It was clear that Representative Mace had threatened physical violence against Congresswoman Crockett as part of her performative, ridiculous meltdown,” Crockett’s office said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Her comment, riddled with ambiguity, illustrates exactly why the House Oversight Committee must pass Congresswoman Crockett’s amendment to reinstate the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Congresswoman Crockett ignored her obvious, desperate incitement – if Rep. Mace wants to raise money from it. “With the back of a qualified black woman, she can try someone else.

The dispute between Mace and Crockett came on the same day that the House of Representatives passed a bill banning transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports at schools that receive federal funding.

Two House Democrats joined Republicans in voting to pass the Protecting Women and Girls in Sports Act. Reps. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, and Vicente Gonzales, D-Texas, were the only Democrats to vote for the bill when it passed by a vote of 218-206. Rep. Don Davis, D-N.C., voted “present.”
