Macy’s lists 66 “underproductive” stores to close, including these 7 in Florida

Macy’s announced Thursday it would close 66 of the company’s “Non-Go Forward” stores, including seven in Florida.

The “bold new chapter” for the company “is aimed at returning the company to sustainable, profitable sales growth, including the closure of approximately 150 underproductive stores over three years,” Macy’s said in Thursday’s announcement.

Which Florida Macy’s stores are closing?

Macy’s has announced the locations of 66 stores that will be closing. Seven are in Florida. They are:

  • Boynton Beach Mall, 801 N. Congress Ave., Boynton Beach

  • Fort Lauderdale Furniture, 4501 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale

  • Pembroke Furniture, 13640 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines

  • South Dade Furniture, 13251 S. Dixie Highway, Miami

  • West Shore Plaza, 298 Westshore Plaza, Tampa

  • Altamonte Furniture, 820 W. Town Parkway, Altamonte Springs

  • Southgate, 3501 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota

Boca Raton Furniture, 9339 Glades Road in Boca Raton, was included in a previous Macy’s closure announcement.

Macy’s begins sales in January or February

The company said the clearance sale at Macy’s stores will begin in January and last approximately 8 to 12 weeks.

For Macy’s Backstage Stores and Macy’s Furniture Galleries, the sale begins in February and will last approximately six weeks.

What to do with a Macy’s gift card?

Gift cards will no longer be sold at Macy’s locations that close after Saturday, January 11th. Gift cards at Macy’s Backstage stores will no longer be sold after February 3rd.

“Gift cards can be redeemed in-store until closing, and you can redeem gift cards at macys.com at any time,” the company said.

How long can you use a Macy’s voucher?
