Magic’s brutal injury luck continues with Jalen Suggs

The Orlando Magic have struggled with injuries to several of their key players all season, and that continues with the latest update from Jalen Suggs.

Suggs suffered a sprained right wrist against the Brooklyn Nets and did not return to the game. Hopefully Suggs’ injury isn’t so bad that he has to miss multiple games, but there’s a chance he will since he’s out. The Magic guard was the main player trying to keep the team afloat while they dealt with all of their injuries.

The Magic also led the way on defense, which is one reason they were still good despite the injuries.

Moe Wagner was the last Magic player to suffer an injury, and he will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL. Wagner had one of the best seasons of his career and made a case for the Sixth Player of the Year award based on his play as a substitute.

Before him, his brother Franz Wagner suffered an oblique injury and is out indefinitely. Franz also had a good season as he took on more of the offensive load for the team due to Paolo Banchero’s injury. Banchero was one of the first Magic players to suffer a long-term injury this season, but it appears he is close to making his return after being seen doing conditioning work at practice.

Last season, the Magic appeared as a young, exciting team that had the potential to continue to grow this season. Expectations for the team were high but now, with so many injuries, the hope is that they can hold on to what they have and eventually get Franz and Banchero back so they can keep going.
