Man Utd superstar ‘agrees to January transfer’, hands Ruben Amorim £51m to play | Football | sport

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has reportedly agreed a deal to move to the Saudi Pro League in the January transfer window. The 32-year-old appears to be on the verge of an exit from Old Trafford after falling out of favor since Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag as head coach.

And a blockbuster reunion with former United and Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo could be on the cards if Al-Nassr is his destination.

According to Brazilian broadcaster UOL, Casemiro is close to completing a high-profile move to the Middle East this winter.

The five-time Champions League winner is said to have already agreed the terms of his super deal should United accept an offer.

The report adds that the Saudi sovereign wealth fund has virtually completed the transfer, although it is currently unknown which club Casemiro will join.

Earlier this week, GIVEMESPORT claimed that Casemiro was earning a staggering £650,000 a week in Saudi Arabia, making him one of the state’s highest-earning stars.

It was also noted that Saudi dealmakers believed the experienced midfielder was available for around £25m, having made it clear last summer that no offer would come close to his £70m asking price in 2022.

United are set to suffer a painful loss to Casemiro after approving the lucrative transfer because they missed out on Erik ten Hag’s top target, Barcelona maestro Frenkie de Jong.

But the sum the Red Devils save after cashing out their No.18, who turns 33 next month, would benefit all parties.

In addition to the reported £25m transfer fee, United would also avoid paying Casemiro’s remaining salary until his current contract expires in 2026.

He is expected to rake in up to £26m in wages between now and July 2026 alone, so there is a tempting incentive to keep him off the books.

Since it is widely assumed that Marcus Rashford will also initially go on loan, Ruben Amorim could have the opportunity to start the rebuild at a later date.

United need a left-back, a central midfielder and a striker as a priority but may have to wait until the summer to complete the deal.

The Old Trafford giants are skating on thin ice when it comes to financial regulations, meaning they will have to sell to buy this month.

Amorim will want to replace both Casemiro and Rashford if either of them leaves this month as he has limited options in both areas.

And the former’s demise could be imminent, judging by the noise coming from his homeland.
