The founder of fashion giant Mango, Isak Andic, died unexpectedly in an accident on Saturday, the company said in a statement.

According to the statement signed by Mango CEO Toni Ruiz, Andic served as the company’s non-executive chairman.

“He dedicated his life to Mango and left an indelible mark thanks to his strategic vision, his inspiring leadership and his unwavering commitment to values ​​that he himself embodied in our company,” the statement said.

Catalan regional police told CNN on Saturday afternoon that a 71-year-old man fell into a ravine more than 320 feet high in the Collbató Caves area of ​​Salnitre, a popular tourist destination near Barcelona.

A source in Catalonia with knowledge of the events told CNN that the victim was Isak Andic.

Police units were dispatched to the caves and were able to recover the body, the police said.
