Mark Cuban’s witty comeback went viral and many users rallied behind him. One of them wrote: “Mark Cuban would have been a much better leader of DOGE!” Thoughtful, creative and innovative!”

DOGE, short for “Department of Government Efficiency,” is a new initiative by President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, to reduce bureaucracy and waste in the U.S. government.

Another praised his transparency, saying, “Mark Cuban’s direct communication style and willingness to engage directly with critics exemplifies the transparency modern business leaders need in our digital age.”

However, not everyone was on the Cuban side. Musk’s supporters quickly countered, pointing to examples of his posts. One user highlighted Musk’s frequent updates on Starlink, saying, “He posts Starlink stuff all the time. That’s pretty positive and nice, isn’t it?”

Some questioned Cuban’s criticism, commenting: “I’ve seen some positive content from Musk. Why would you say that?”

This is not the first time Cuban has objected to Musk’s public statements. He recently analyzed Musk’s controversial comparison of the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party with the US Democratic Party in 2008. Cuban used Musk’s own AI chatbot Grok to counter his endorsement of the AfD.

Elon Musk declared on X that “only the AfD can save Germany”.

The comment was widely criticized, including by Democratic Senator Chris Murphy, who described the AfD as a “neo-Nazi” group. Musk defended his stance, claiming: “AfD policies are identical to those of the US Democratic Party when Obama took office! I don’t think there is a single difference.”

Cuban then asked Grok which US political party was most closely linked to the AfD. The AI’s response was ironic – it identified the Republican Party that Musk had voted for in recent years.
