Martin Short, welcome to Saturday Night Live Five-Timer Club!

The Just murders in the building star and former SNL The actor celebrated his fifth hosting gig in style, with Tom Hanks himself welcoming him to the acclaimed Five-Timers Club. “I can only stay for a short time and then I have to host another game show and laugh at my own jokes,” Fallon said as he entered.

“Well, at least someone’s laughing,” Short replied.

However, Fallon wasn’t the only victim of Short’s jabs. He also upset Mulaney after mentioning her short-lived 2014 sitcom Mulaney.

“But you came back strong!” Kurz said. “Then you crashed and burned. And then you came back strong and we’re all so excited to see what’s going to happen next.”

Not even Short’s absent accomplice, Steve Martin, was spared. As Hanks presents Short with the evening’s signature cocktail, a “MartyTini,” he notes that it is often paired with a “Steve MarTini.”

“I bet it’s even better neat,” Short says as he takes a sip.
