Martin Short Joins SNL’s Five-Timers Club With Celebrity Friends: Watch

Martin Short did Saturday Night Live Story!

During the Dec. 21 episode of the late-night comedy sketch series, the 74-year-old actor was inducted into the Five-Timers Club — an elusive group of celebrities who hosted SNL at least 5 times.

During the show’s opening, Short was feted by fellow Five-Timer Club members including Tom Hanks, Paul Rudd, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Kristen Wiig, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, John Mulaney and Jimmy Fallon.

After each star celebrated Short and made various jokes, Fallon, 50, appeared and presented the Just murders in the building Star with a token to celebrate his latest achievement.

“I’d like to present to you the official Five-Times club jacket, in your exact size, a women’s size S,” the late-night host teased.

Elsewhere in the show, Short took part in various skits, including one in which he played a man who gets into an altercation in the parking lot and another in which he portrayed an airport employee who was on duty during the week of Christmas Traveler reports.

In another sketch he played the lead role as an acting teacher who gives criticism A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Hozier, meanwhile, served as the evening’s musical guest, returning to the Studio 8H stage for the first time in over a decade. The musician last performed on SNL in October 2014.

He played “Too Sweet” from his EP for the first time Unheardbefore later returning to sing “Fairytale of New York.”

SNL announced the cast for season 50 earlier this year.

Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim and Jane Wickline have been added to the sketch comedy show’s roster, while Punkie Johnson, Chloe Troast and Molly Kearney have all stepped down. Meanwhile, returning cast members Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker were promoted to the main cast after each two years as leads.

Michael Che, Colin Jost, James Austin Johnson, Bowen Yang, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman and Kenan Thompson round out the rest of the cast.

SNLThe next episode and the first of 2025 are scheduled to air on January 18th.
