Marvel exec says Ms. Marvel is “top of mind”

While Ms. Marvel is one of the biggest busts in the MCU, apparently there are still plans for Kamala Khan and Iman Vellani in the MCU.

The Ms. Marvel The series on Disney+ is Marvel’s least-watched live-action series each week. Saw it recently too The miracles with Iman Vellani in the lead role, an absolute bomb at the box office. The film lost Disney $200 million. Marvel’s female audience refused to show up. The Avengers video game starring Kamala Khan also failed, and the comics were canceled and reprinted at least a dozen times. It is also believed that the Young Avengers film will either be canceled entirely or relegated to a renamed Disney+ series because all of the actors involved are too old.

Is Ms. Marvel a fan-favorite character?

In a strange article from THR, the site states that Ms. Marvel is a “fan-favorite character,” that Marvel has “struck gold” with Ms. Marvel, and even say: X Men ’97 And Agatha are, however, “resounding victories,” similar to Ms. MarvelBoth achieved some of the worst ratings for Marvel on Disney+.

What’s also strange is that the article mentions this Marvel Zombies animated series, however, doesn’t even mention Ms. Marvel or Iman Vellani while talking about the series. It is known Marvel Zombies is said to focus on Ms. Marvel with the series’ main character. Iman Vellani has said that Kamala is the “Frodo of history” (I guessed that Ms. Marvel is immune to the zombie virus, along with all the other powers she was given in the MCU).

Marvel execs on Ms. Marvel’s future in the MCU

As for what the Marvel executive has to say, Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel’s television, streaming and animation, said the following when asked by the writer what he can say about their future:

I love Iman. She is incredible. I love this character. I will tell you that for me she is certainly a big part of the MCU. ‘MS. Marvel is a really important series for us, and without going into too much detail because I don’t want to give anything away, it’s right at the top of our minds. So it will be exciting to see where she shows up next.

What’s also interesting is that, according to Winderbaum, the new Marvel direction is about Marvel putting out good stories that fans want:

The most important thing we can do as a studio is tell stories that resonate with people. I don’t know that every show has to try to be a giant EndgameA large-scale event that is a four-quadrant series where every single person shows up in a big emotional way. This is important someone shows up in an emotional way so we can tell stories that speak to us any part of our fan base and convey to them the excitement they felt in the theater when they saw it Endgame. If we can do that for anyone, for one fan, then we’ve done our job. This allows these shows to be discovered and word of mouth grows so more people can discover them.

It’s also nice to hear that Winderbaum is a big fan of the comics. I recently received news that a bright MCU producer is leaving Marvel who wouldn’t hire writers who read comics:

I remember walking into the comic book store as a child. I was a Marvel fan and collected Marvel comics and had a huge selection of books at my disposal. There was a heightened imagination with it Thor. There was a soap opera with social commentary X Men. There were adventure stories The avenger And Iron Man. And Marvel has always meant many things. Marvel is not one thing. There are many stories to tell that belong to different genres, have different tones, and appeal to different segments of the fandom. So that’s something we’re definitely trying to create in our television programming, but in our overall programming.
