However, Infinity Defense isn’t the only new attraction on Avengers Campus.

The Stark Flight Lab is being built next door, which will also utilize the talents of Tony Stark’s Robert Downey Jr.

Since Thanos is the main protagonist of Avengers: Infinity Defense, Josh Brolin may already be attached to the project.

And since Marvel stars often film and record dialogue for Disney park experiences while filming Marvel Studios projects, he may be doing just that (along with other MCU stars) on the set of The Russo Brothers. Avengers: Secret Wars.

The Disneyland update on the Infinity Defense build actually followed Brolin’s own New York Comic Con comments to Collider, in which he discussed a possible retaliation.

According to Brolin, he brings Thanos back “Must be right” but he would do it “Everything the Russians wanted from me:”

“I’m not kidding – it’s one thing to play Thanos. It’s like, ‘Oh, they’re going to bring Thanos back.’ It’s like Sicario; it’s like Ryan Reynolds and I are talking about Deadpool 4. But we always talk about what suits him. Thanos has to pass if you want to bring him back. I would do anything the Russians wanted me to do.”

As for Joe and Anthony Russo, they’re apparently gathering MCU veterans like Infinity Stones, with Robert Downey Jr., Hayley Atwell and Chris Evans already expected to return Avengers: End of the World, The film was supposed to lead up to Secret Wars.

When asked directly if he had been contacted about a comeback, Brolin would neither confirm nor deny it. His only answer? A possibly telltale cough.

Why Thanos is working for Marvel’s new ensemble projects

When it comes to Disney’s Avengers: Infinity Defense, King Thanos works because he’s not the same villain from the films, but rather a variant wreaking havoc across the multiverse.

Since Marvel Disney Park experiences exist in their own timeline, but one that “Mirror” In the on-screen MCU, there are character crossovers, clashes and team-building that Canon wouldn’t normally allow.

What Avengers: Secret WarsHowever, the possible return of Josh Brolin as Thanos might raise some eyebrows, especially since the MCU already portrays Galactus and RDJ’s Doctor Doom as the new big bads.

Still, Brolin’s return could serve two purposes, the first of which could be an alternate, heroic version of Thanos.

If Robert Downey Jr. is playing a villain (and Chris Evans isn’t exactly the Captain America fans remember), why wouldn’t Josh Brolin give the purple Titan a new twist, similar to the rehabilitated Ravager Thanos from? What if…?

The second purpose could be the adaptation of the comic Secret wars 2015 storyline in which Thanos shows up to challenge Doctor Doom’s control over Battleworld.

While only time will tell, it’s hard to imagine this being a comic-inspired fight Endgame A rematch between Thanos and RDJ wouldn’t meet Josh Brolin’s requirements for the villain “Fine if you bring him back.”

Marvel fans should expect to hear more about King Thanos from Avengers Campus when construction begins in 2025, and perhaps confirmation of Brolin’s return as Marvel Studios continues to break ground End of the world And Secret wars.

Avengers: End of the World hits theaters May 1, 2026; Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to debut on May 7, 2027. Avengers: Infinity Defense does not yet have an opening date.
