Mass arrests at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as anti-Israel protesters block path

Anti-Israel protesters tried to ruin the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the second straight day on Thursday, with police quickly swooping in and arresting more than 20 people.

Protesters entered the parade route at W. 55th Street and Sixth Avenue, stopping the Ronald McDonald balloon — and drawing loud boos from parade-goers, who yelled at the group of about 20 to move.

Photos showed protesters sitting in the path of the parade, some carrying a large banner that read: “Don’t celebrate genocide!”

NYPD officers quickly descended on the group shouting “Free, free Palestine!” as they were tackled to the ground and handcuffed.

At least 21 people were arrested, sources told the Post.

The video shows some unruly protesters being pulled away and placed on their stomachs to be handcuffed, while others willingly stand up and walk away from the parade with police.

The footage also showed protesters holding the banner and fighting with police officers before throwing their crumpled sign to the ground and handcuffing it.

Many in the crowd shouted “USA! USA! USA!” as the protesters were quickly taken away.

After about five minutes, the parade began moving again, and the leader of the balloon line told the audience, “Ronald McDonald, everyone!”

Mayor Eric Adams had already warned protesters not to repeat last year’s disgrace, when many glued their hands to the parade route.

“I really want to take this moment to tell those grinning people who think they’re going to disrupt the parade that that’s not going to happen,” Adams said Wednesday night before the iconic parade.
