Matchups, schedule after wild card round

March Madness is still over a month away, but that doesn’t mean the NFL won’t try to get in on the bracket madness itself.

The wildcard weekend slate includes six games and 12 teams, all hoping to survive and advance to the divisional round. Unfortunately, six teams are voted off the island and sent into the offseason. The remaining six will join No. 1 seeds Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions next weekend to continue their quest for a Super Bowl.

There weren’t many bracket busters in the opening round in last year’s postseason. Will it stay that way this season too?

In 2024, the favorites have dominated, but this is a new year and anything can happen. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 NFL playoffs as the wild card results are revealed.

How does the NFL playoff bracket work?

The NFL playoff series is constantly changing and different from the static formats common in other leagues. This means that the seedings will play a big role in future encounters.
