Matt Gaetz is raising eyebrows with his bizarre response to Trump’s Thanksgiving rant

Former congressman Matt Gaetz remains a die-hard Trump fan, even after the Florida Republican saw his bid for attorney general go down in flames in the new administration.

“I will never love another president again,” Gaetz wrote on X on Thursday.

The impetus for this praise was in response to Trump’s rather unorthodox Thanksgiving message, in which the president-elect lambasted “Radical Left Lunatics.”

“Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, including the lunatics of the radical left who have worked so hard to destroy our country but who have failed miserably and will always fail because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people “Our nation is just so bad.” gave a landslide victory to those who want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote on social media earlier in the day. “Don’t worry, our country will soon be respected, productive, fair, and strong, and you will be more proud than ever to be an American!”

Earlier in the week, Biden celebrated the holiday by conducting his final turkey pardon on the South Lawn, granting a reprieve to two turkeys named Peach and Blossom.

Gaetz announced last week that he would not seek the nomination for attorney general, even though he resigned from Congress after the Trump administration selected him for the position. However, the nomination process proved tumultuous as a House committee investigated Gaetz over allegations that he paid for sex and had sex with a minor, which he strongly denied.

“I had excellent meetings with senators yesterday. I appreciate your thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation unfairly became a distraction from the critical work of the Trump/Vance transition,” Gaetz wrote on social media about his decision. “We cannot waste time on an unnecessarily protracted melee in Washington, so I am withdrawing my name from consideration for attorney general. Trump’s DOJ needs to be on the ground and ready on day one.”

The former congressman added that he would not return to the House of Representatives but would continue to support the Trump administration.

Instead of Gaetz, Trump has chosen another proven loyalist as his candidate: former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Bondi is a veteran prosecutor and longtime Trump ally who supported the president-elect during the presidential campaign and impeachment hearings. Controversially, she also refrained from filing charges against Trump University shortly after a Trump foundation gave her a donation.
