Mike McDaniel knows better than anyone what the 49ers have to offer – even when they’re not at full strength.

The Miami Dolphins coach, who spent five seasons with San Francisco, is preparing for a Week 16 game against his former team, which is missing several of its key players. Nonetheless, he plans the game for a hard-fought Week 16 showdown on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.

“The NFL is tough. “Success comes with tough times because when you’re a good team, especially since the San Francisco 49ers came along, there’s not a single team that comes into Sunday and takes them lightly,” McDaniel told Reporter Wednesday. “It’s kind of a litmus test for every team you play against. Every team has different types of injuries. And these injuries have different consequences. One thing I know about the San Francisco 49ers because I worked there for five years: I know the coaching staff and a lot of the players there. It’s a very, very proud team to play good football.

“As you go through that, sometimes in this league you have successes, sometimes you have failures, but it’s the consistency with which you attack things that matters. Do you let things define you or do you take from things so you can further define the future?” “I think they’re definitely frustrated, just like we are. But I in no way expect anything other than their best. Ultimately, they will get there.” Find a way to be the best version of yourself moving forward.

The 49ers, like McDaniel’s Dolphins, didn’t have the season they – or the rest of the NFL world – expected.

San Francisco, which has dominated the NFC West for years, has fallen to last place in the division with a record of 6-8.

Miami also has a 6-8 record entering Week 16 but sits in second place in the AFC East.

The 49ers’ playoff hopes are very, very slim with three games remaining in the regular season. But that won’t stop them from playing their best football possible on Sunday in South Beach – and McDaniel knows it.
