For some of the new couples, like Amani and Matt, who are considering divorce in order to obtain an engagement visa for the third person in their relationship, things seem particularly complicated. “I love being married to Matt, I love being a mother, but we have a third party in our relationship,” says Amani, referring to Any – the other woman in her life – who is from Tijuana, Mexico, comes from.

Then there are Mahdi and Stevi, who hasn’t told her family about her boyfriend from Iran. “Will he force you to wear jihad?” asks Stevi’s father (someone raise this man, please!) when he finally meets his daughter’s fiancé. Aside from her father, the revelation that Stevi might be bisexual could be a game-changer for Mahdi.
