Michael Johnson just flattened Ottman Azaitar and sent his head bouncing off the canvas at UFC Tampa

Holy goodness, that was violent. Tonight is the final UFC card of the year and we’re definitely closing it out with a bang. At 38 years old, Michael Johnson is still doing the thing, putting in great performances and getting instant bonus knockouts. And some additional follow-up footage that is highly questionably necessary.

By the way, remember when Ottman Azaitar was fired? He had a teammate break the COVID barrier on Fight Island in the middle of the pandemic, then climbed over the side of the hotel with a bag to deliver it to Azaitar after weightlifting. Anyone with half a brain would assume that illegal IV fluids were delivered in that bag, but Azaitar claimed it was a PlayStation. He was so hoping for a game of Fortnite that a teammate went all-in on Mission Impossible and got him fired. Yeah, okay, buddy. Likely story.

After that, he was reinstated for some reason, but has been eliminated three times in a row since then. He’s probably done now.

Michael Johnson, on the other hand, says he still has a lot left in the tank and I believe him. He’s still a wild man there and there are still plenty of fun fights waiting for him in this division. Again – I cannot condone this MALICIOUS Follow-up punches that sent Azaitar’s head bouncing off the mat like a basketball…but that’s just MMA sometimes. You fight until the referee pulls you away from your opponent. It is what it is.

As for other finishes, Sean Woodson sent Fernando Padilla backwards tonight with a massive first round knockout….

…and speaking of insane extra punches, Joel Álvarez basically murdered Drakkar Klose and then held him up for a few more shots, not realizing he was already unconscious…

It’s been a pretty great map so far and there are still a lot of fights left (The main map is just beginning) So tune in to ESPN+ if you’re interested.
