Mike Bresnahan on what he saw LeBron and Anthony Davis on the bench when Dalton Knecht went off the court

Dalton Knecht was a real discovery for the Los Angeles Lakers, as the rookie sensation developed into a dangerous three-point shooter.

LeBron James beat out the 16 NBA teams that were selected ahead of them in the NBA Draft, passing Dalton Knecht.

Knecht admitted he didn’t mind falling to pick 17 since he now has the privilege of playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the LA Lakers.

And the feeling is mutual. Davis has already spoken about how much he admires Knecht and has tried to encourage the newcomer to throw off the shackles.

Knecht makes an impression

Dalton Knecht is successful and was back in the starting lineup against San Antonio. Lakers fans were unhappy that he was substituted in the previous two games.

Lakers expert Mike Bresnahan emphasized this in the post-game show after the win over the Spurs.

He believes that Knecht has secured his starting place: “I think he will be there for the rest of the year. I don’t understand how you can push Dalton Knecht out of the starting lineup. It adds a different element to the game.”

He added that when Knecht scored 37 points against the Jazz, he noticed real excitement among the Lakers superstars.

Bresnahan said, “The game where Dalton had nine threes. They were so happy, LeBron and AD, it was like a party on the bench.”

“Like ‘Wow,’ the 17th pick in the NBA draft, we finally found our shooter.”

He added that he thinks the anger over the Lakers passing up Buddy Hield and Klay Thompson in recent free agency may now subside somewhat.

5th highest scorer for the Lakers
