One of the strangest decisions in the Week 12 contest was keeping QB Russell Wilson on the sideline while a questionable package from Justin Fields caused the backup QB to miss a key throw to WR George Pickens.

When asked about the call during the Week 13 press conference, HC Mike Tomlin said, “We felt good about it. It was a significant moment. It was the third and middle moment. They had 11 players within five yards of the line of scrimmage. We.” “I felt like GP was running on a corner that wasn’t called Denzel Ward.”

The reporter didn’t let Tomlin off easy and continued to question the pick, especially since Fields hadn’t played in an NFL game in over a month. Tomlin was dismissive, keeping it short and succinct, explaining that the decision would have been made regardless of the possible rust on Fields’ arm.

Tomlin had no regrets about the risky third-down play call, but the Steelers should stick to the basics as they prepare for their Week 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
