One of the most questionable decisions in the Week 18 game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals came with less than a minute left in the first half.

Quarterback Russell Wilson was thrown one yard short after a failed QB sneak on third down. Deep in their own territory, head coach Mike Tomlin chose not to punt the ball away, leading to a failed rushing attempt by the Steelers on fourth down.

The Bengals took advantage of the turnover on downs and extended their lead to 13-7 with a field goal just before halftime. When asked about the decision, Tomlin gave one of his most questionable excuses – fitting one of the game’s most controversial decisions:

This poor excuse sums up Tomlin’s questionable statements in 2024 and leaves fans disheartened as the team heads into the playoffs still hoping for change.
