Monday Night Football: The Vikings lead the Bears 13-0 at halftime

The Vikings lead the Bears 13-0 at halftime and will get the ball to start the second half.

Minnesota defeated Chicago 180 to 106, with Sam Darnold going 15 of 24 for 145 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The Vikings scored on three of four possessions, with Darnold throwing a pick to Bears defenseman Tyrique Stevenson on the other drive with Minnesota at the Chicago 23.

The Vikings also settled for a field goal in the red zone after reaching the Chicago 13 at the end of the first half.

Vikings kicker Will Reichard kicked field goals of 52 and 31 yards.

Justin Jefferson caught a 7-yard touchdown pass but dropped another. He has two catches for 15 yards. Jordan Addison has six catches for 58 yards.

On four drives, not including a kneel at the end of the half, the Bears reached the Vikings’ 29 twice. Quarterback Caleb Williams fumbled on a blind-side sack by Jonathan Greenard on the first, and running back D’Andre Swift was stopped by Blake Cashman on fourth-and-1 in the second.

Swift was also unsuccessfully stopped by Greenard and Jerry Tillery on fourth-and-1 from his own 39-yard line on the Bears’ first drive.

The Bears are 0-5 on third down and 0-2 on fourth down.

Williams is 7 of 9 for 59 yards with the lost fumble and DJ Moore has five touches for 40 yards.

According to Josh Dubow of the Associated Press, the Bears are the first team since the 2018 Jaguars to be shut out in three consecutive first halves.

Vikings right tackle Brian O’Neill was hit from behind in the first half. He left the game, returned and went to the X-ray room before the end of the half. David Quessenberry now plays right tackle for the Vikings.

The Vikings consider O’Neill’s return questionable due to a knee injury.
