More snow in the Denver metro on Thursday, slippery morning commute

DENVER – Here we go again! Another storm will move across the state tonight, hitting the northern mountains this evening and metro Denver early Thursday morning.

The morning commute will be slow and slippery as we expect about 1 to 2 inches of new snow in the city. The wind will also become stronger, creating difficult travel conditions in the city corridor.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for eastern Adams, Arapahoe and Washington counties for 1 to 3 inches of new snow and wind gusts of 50 mph. Portions of Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties are also under the advisory. Watch for 2 to 4 inches along the Palmer Divide as blowing and blowing snow could potentially slow traffic through Thursday afternoon.

This storm will move away Thursday afternoon, but gusty winds will persist in its wake. It will be a windy but sunny end to the week. Highs will climb into the upper 30s to lower 40s Friday afternoon before another storm develops.

Look for increasing cloudiness Saturday, with very light snow possible in the afternoon and evening. This storm will move across the state late Saturday, ensuring a cool but dry end to the weekend.

The cold of January is here as temperatures remain below average for much of next week!
