More than 11,000 Entergy customers are still without power. See when it will be restored

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Entergy Mississippi officials say the majority of customers still affected by Saturday’s severe weather should have power restored by Tuesday evening.

Severe weather struck across the state on Saturday, leaving tens of thousands of customers without power.

As of Monday afternoon, Entergy Mississippi crews had restored power to about 75 percent of the 45,000 affected customers, leaving about 11,400 without power.

So far, more than 1,300 employees and contractual partners are helping with the renovation. The damage assessment of Entergy’s distribution system is now approximately 88 percent complete.

To date, the company has discovered 164 destroyed poles and more than 70 kilometers of downed lines.

Entergy Mississippi reminds customers that electrical damage may occur if they live in a neighborhood where power has been restored but there is no power at home.

If a customer does not have power, they should inspect the electrical devices connected to their home or business for damage and contact an electrician for repairs. For information about the electrical equipment of a home, click here.
