Morgan Wallen convicted of throwing chair on roof while drunk

Country star Morgan Wallen has received his sentence after he was arrested for drunkenly throwing a chair off a six-story building in Nashville and pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment.

On Thursday, the “Last Night” singer was sentenced to one week in a DUI education center and two years of probation, his attorney Worrick Robinson IV confirmed Weekly entertainment. Wallen was also fined $350 and ordered to pay court fees for the incident, which occurred at fellow country singer Eric Church’s bar Chief’s in April.

“Today (12/12/24), Morgan Wallen appeared in Davidson County Circuit Court with Judge Cynthia Chappell presiding, where he entered a conditional plea, which will not result in conviction, pursuant to Tennessee’s Diversion Statute,” Robinson said in a statement . “The plea agreement with prosecutors requires Mr. Wallen to spend seven days in a DUI training center, be on probation for two years – one year for each of the misdemeanor reckless endangerment charges – pay a $350 fine and go to court After successfully completing his probation, the charges can be dismissed and expunged.

Robinson added that his client “has cooperated fully with authorities over the past eight months, communicating directly with and apologizing to all those involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and his foundation.”

Wallen, 31, was initially charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct. Around two weeks after the incident, he expressed his regret on social media.

“I didn’t feel right coming forward publicly until I made amends with a few people,” Wallen wrote. “I have been in contact with Nashville law enforcement, my family and the good people at Chief’s. I am not proud of my behavior and take responsibility. I have the utmost respect for the officials who work every day to keep us all safe.” He added that the incident would have no impact on his tour schedule.

Wallen’s trial does not appear to have affected his success. In October, the Grammy-nominated artist’s song “Love Somebody” debuted at the top of the billboard Hot 100 chart.
