Billy Quarantillo speaks out after loss to UFC Tampa

Quarantillo initially took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to break his silence after suffering two consecutive defeats for the first time.

“Damn you all felt good there,” he tweeted.

Two hours later, the 36-year-old shared a video to his Instagram story.

It showed him in the backseat of a car on the way to his post-fight party.

“Thanks for the support. I’m fine. I got caught, it happens,” Quarantillo said.

“It was a good fight. Kudos to Cub, he’s an OG of the sport.

“I’m with the crew right now and we’re going to The Blind Goat for a quick drink. I hope to see you there.

“Thank you again for the support. I’m doing well. I’ll think about it a bit and come back stronger.”

Quarantillo added another message to his story after finding out he had secured a bonus through the loss.

He wrote: “Still painful but part of the sport, thank you Tampa, I love you.”

Cub Swanson teases retirement

Cub Swanson hinted that he may be done fighting at UFC Tampa.

“Killer” enjoyed a legendary career, having scored famous victories over former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and perennial contender Dustin Poirier at the height of his power.

Swanson has also shared the Octagon with Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes, Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar during his 44 fights in the sport.

“I kind of told my wife this might be the last one, so we’ll see,” Swanson said during his post-fight interview with UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping.

“I’m kinda old, guys. I want to say that I appreciate you allowing a 40-year-old father to come here and entertain you.”

In the post-fight press conference he added: “I will always be tempted (to fight again). We’ll see how I get well again. I have three small children who are getting a little older and definitely want my attention more.

“I have a lot of fighters. My team “Bloodline”, the guys I manage and coach, I put a lot of effort into them and the last few fights have really allowed me to show them how it’s done. Not only could I talk about it, I could also be there, show them and set a good example.

“At this point, I’m honestly more excited about coaching. I love the sport and the great thing about being on the other side of the cage is that I don’t go home with bumps and bruises.

“It could definitely be a storybook ending. Yes, it has to be something exciting to motivate me (to fight again).”
