Mysterious New Jersey drones are coming from an Iranian mothership off the coast, a congressman claims

A New Jersey congressman suggested that the mysterious drones over the Garden State were Iranian and came from a mothership parked off the East Coast.

Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew said during an appearance on Fox News Wednesday morning that the drones “very likely” could have come from Iran, citing confidential sources.

“These drones should be shot down,” he said, adding that “the military is on high alert in this regard.”

He did not reveal where he got the information. Van Drew, whose district covers most of the Jersey Shore, sits on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

“I’m going to tell you the real deal. “Iran launched a mothership containing these drones,” Van Drew said. “It is off the east coast of the United States of America. They launched drones.”

“These come from high-level sources, I don’t say that lightly,” he added, categorically ruling out that the drones were flown by hobbyists or the US government itself.
