Nate Frazier ends the regular season with a bang

Nate Fraziers There have been some pretty impressive bookends this season.

The freshman running back began his career with a touchdown in Georgia’s season opener against Clemson. In the regular season finale against Georgia Tech, Frazier capped an epic eight-overtime win with a two-point conversion run to secure the victory.

“Nate was the glue,” Georgia’s head coach said Kirby Smart said after the game. “He stepped up, played really big and ran really hard. You wonder if we had given him the ball earlier we wouldn’t have been out so long. You would all have been home by now. He could have scored the goal.” Ball if he got it now. He hit the hole really hard.

Frazier has played a larger role in Georgia’s offense lately as a starter Trevor Etienne crazy. He has averaged 16.4 runs per game over the last five contests, starting with the win over Florida where Etienne aggravated his rib injury.

The increased reps have accelerated Frazier’s development. Smart specifically mentioned his pass protection as an area where he has improved tremendously.

“I’ve seen him grow, especially off the field, in terms of watching film, taking notes and being able to take constructive criticism,” Receiver said Dominic Lovett said. “Because none of us are perfect. There are some things we see on film as a team and as individuals, such as downs, carries and catches, that we wish we could get back. And he’s just good at talking to the coaches about it. “Ask them what you can do to get better.

Players have mentioned this year that they are proud to see freshmen succeed. Frazier, who arrived over the summer, hasn’t even been in Athens as long as most of his 2024 classmates.

But on Friday night, Frazier etched his name forever in Georgia annals with an iconic play against the Bulldogs’ archrival.

“We talk about mudita all the time on this team, which just means finding joy in other people’s success, and I think that’s a prime example,” tight end said Ben Yurosek said. “Whether it’s a freshman or a senior, we will find happiness through the success of our teammates.”
