Naughty Dog announces The Last of Us 2 PC release date during The Game Awards 2024

Naughty Dog made a brief appearance at the 2024 Game Awards to announce The Last of Us Part 2’s PC release date, and there’s still quite a while to wait. Given the state in which The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered was released, that’s probably not a bad thing.

The Last of Us Part 2 for PC will be released on April 3, 2025 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. It is the remastered version released for PS5 in January 2024, which means it offers some graphical and performance improvements as well as the No Return roguelike mode. Nixxes is working with Sony to port The Last of Us 2 to PC, and they also promised more improvements.

“We’re all excited to bring The Last of Us Part 2 to the PC audience, including all of the great new features we’ve added in the remastered version for PS5,” said game director Matthew Gallant in a PlayStation blog post . “We hope players enjoy the compelling story, rich combat mechanics and extensive behind-the-scenes commentary, and test their skills in the roguelike mode No Return.” We are working hard to ensure the game is on this level “The new platform feels great and has the high performance and robust features that PC gamers expect.”

“We are honored and excited to work closely with Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy to bring The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered to PC,” said Coen Frauenfelder, Nixxes PC product director. “Our highly trained and motivated team works hard to provide players with a great PC experience. We combine our experience, our proprietary technology and our passion for this game series to deliver a scalable and powerful port that players have come to expect.”
