NBA admits James Harden’s mistakes at Clippers-Grizzlies

The LA Clippers picked up one of their most impressive wins of the season on Tuesday night when they defeated the Kawhi Leonard-less Memphis Grizzlies. The Clippers defeated second place Western Conference seed Memphis in Memphis and were led by the familiar trio of James Harden, Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac.

Zubac dominated the game with 20 points, 19 rebounds and four steals and was undoubtedly the player of the game. However, the ninth-year center received some help from his star backcourt.

Harden and Powell started slowly but came alive down the home stretch, finishing the game together with a 50-point lead between the two.

Because this game went to the end, the NBA released a last-two-minute report that included a missed call.

With 47.4 seconds left, Zubac was called for a foul on Jaren Jackson Jr. that sent the Grizzlies star to the free throw line with Memphis trailing 108-107. According to the NBA, the foul was Harden’s fault and would have been his fifth.

“Zubac (LAC) maintains a legal guard position while defending Jackson Jr. (MEM) in the post,” the NBA wrote. “The foul should have been awarded to Harden (LAC), who reached in and made illegal contact with Jackson Jr.’s arm.”

This was a largely inconsequential miss as Harden did not pick up another foul after he should have been called for his fifth foul. However, it is the only mistake the NBA admitted to in its Last Two Minute Report.
