NBA fans react to Zach Edey injury news ahead of Grizzlies-Kings

After achieving what many thought would be success with the ninth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Memphis Grizzlies rookie center Zach Edey has impressed to begin his NBA career after a historic college career. In 20 games this season, Edey has 14 starts and is averaging 11.3 points and 8.0 rebounds while he is well in the running for rookie of the year.

The unfortunate case for Edey has been injuries, as he missed 12 games earlier this season after being injured in a game against the Denver Nuggets on November 17th, and missed the last two games for Memphis after suffering an injury against the New Orleans Pelicans suffered a concussion.

As the Grizzlies continue their five-game road trip with a game in Sacramento against the Kings on Friday, a recent injury report suggests Edey could return after his two-game absence.

Memphis has upgraded Edey to questionable, and NBA fans shared their reaction to the injury news on social media ahead of Friday night’s contest between the Western Conference opponents.

“ZEDEY AND BC BACK, WE’RE BACK LFG,” commented one excited Grizzlies fan.

“This is a little better I guess,” said one cautiously optimistic fan.

“WE BACKKKKZ,” declared another enthusiastic Grizzlies fan.

“I knew the ‘questionable’ care package was landing,” one fan responded.

If Edey is able to play, he will face Sacramento Kings star Domantas Sabonis. In 31 games this season, Sabonis averaged 20.6 points and 13.8 rebounds per game. Additionally, Sabonis has averaged 15.9 points and 15.8 rebounds in eight games against the Grizzlies since joining Sacramento.
