We’re back! After a brief break due to the NBA Cup Playoffs, Brooklyn Nets basketball is back in Memphis and will face a team they have won 20% of their games against. The Nets are improving with a record of 10-14 – good for number 8 in the East. If you lose a pair, you take part in the lottery again.

Game preview | Brian Fleurantine

The game: The center matchup should be particularly fun. Jaren Jackson Jr. has taken a big step forward and is headed to his second All-Star appearance. He’s shooting a career-high 51.7 percent from the field and is someone who can take over the offense for long stretches. If he plays at this level, who knows how far Memphis can go.

Injuries: Bojan Bogdanovic, Cam Thomas and Ziaire Williams are out. No word yet on the condition of Jacky Cui, who apparently suffered a serious knee injury two nights ago at Nassau Coliseum. He is listed as a Long Island Nets player and is not injured. Dariq Whitehead remains deployed on Long Island. Jaylen Martin and Tyrese Martin are also in the G League in two ways.

Vince Williams, Jr and GG Jackson are out for Memphis. Zach Edey is doubtful with a left ankle sprain.
