As the world welcomes the NBA on Christmas Day, three of the league’s most famous players – Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Stephen Curry – sit down to reflect on the miraculous paths that have intertwined their careers. In NBA OGs: Friends and Rivals, the trio revisits their storied journeys as opponents and teammates and shares insight into the rivalries, friendships and legacy they built together.

Few players in NBA history have defined an era as clearly as Durant, James and Curry. Their legacies are etched into the league’s most memorable moments, from the legendary Finals battles between the Cavaliers and Warriors to Durant’s transformative influence when he joined Golden State.

“You don’t sleep well the night before you play great things the next day,” James said.

In four straight NBA Finals (2015-2018), we’ve seen James and Curry go head-to-head and Curry’s Warriors take a 3-1 lead. Then came Durant’s arrival in Golden State in 2016, which shifted the balance of power even further.

LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant discuss all the years they’ve competed against each other.

“You wear this all year round. “Those offseason workouts, in the back of your mind, his (James) face is in your head,” Curry said, pointing to James. “Think about who you need to beat to achieve the ultimate goal.”

With nearly 55 years of NBA experience combined, James (22), Durant (17) and Curry (16) remain at the top of their games and lead their franchises in the quest for victory. James wants to continue to prove his greatness with the historic Los Angeles Lakers franchise. Curry is maintaining his dynasty and building Golden State’s reputation as one of the most successful franchises in all of sports over the last 10 years. And Durant, who has set his sights on bringing Phoenix the first NBA title in franchise history. Her drive and longevity are a testament to her tireless work ethic and adaptability.

When asked what they would take away from each other’s games, their answers highlighted their mutual admiration.

LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant discuss why the collaboration was a unique opportunity for USA Basketball to join forces and learn from each other.

“Give me KD’s pull-up, hesi, left,” James said. Meanwhile, Durant praised Curry’s shooting: “The quick twitch on his jump shot.”

Curry added: “I’ll take LeBron’s IQ. Being able to control the pace and flow of the game single-handedly is amazing.”

The trio has proven that their influence extends far beyond their rivalry. While fans enjoy this conversation, all three stars will also be on the court for their big Christmas games as Durant’s Suns take on Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets and James’ Lakers take on Curry’s Warriors.
