NBA postpones games postponed by LA wildfires and Atlanta storm – NBC Los Angeles

The NBA has made some schedule changes due to the wildfires in California and the winter storm in Atlanta.

After postponing three games last week — two in Los Angeles and one in Atlanta — the league announced Wednesday that it has postponed nine games to accommodate affected teams.

The Los Angeles Lakers game against the Charlotte Hornets was the first contest to be postponed to January 9th, and this game will now be played on February 19th at the Crypto.com Arena.

Two days later, the Los Angeles Clippers’ home game against the Hornets was postponed. The Clippers will now host the Hornets at the Intuit Dome on March 16th.

On January 11, across the country, the Hawks’ game against the Houston Rockets had to be postponed due to a winter storm. Atlanta and Houston will now meet on January 28th at State Farm Arena.

Because these three games were postponed until later in the season, six additional changes had to be made for scheduling reasons. Here are those changes:

  • Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers moved from January 21st to January 20th.
  • The Washington Wizards at Utah Jazz have moved from January 23rd to March 19th.
  • Utah Jazz at Los Angeles Lakers postponed from February 11th to February 10th.
  • The Washington Wizards moved to the Los Angeles Clippers from March 16th to January 23rd.
  • The Washington Wizards moved to the Portland Trail Blazers from March 18th to 17th.
  • Los Angeles Clippers at Utah Jazz moved from March 19th to February 13th.
