Nebraska and Penn State went head-to-head in the NCAA Tournament semifinals. Fans traveled to Louisville and packed up at the Galt House Hotel hours before the game began. Penn State got on the court first in the fourth set, but Beason’s kill began to chip away at the Nittany Lion’s lead. Two consecutive aces from Murray tied the match at 15. Another ace followed by a kill from Murray put Nebraska ahead 18-15. After a back-and-forth with extra points, the Nittany Lions won the fourth set 28-26. Beason got the Huskers on the board first in the fifth set. Penn State got the reverse sweep and advanced to the championship game with a 15-13 fifth set.
