New York Gov. Tom Homan Attacks Illegal Immigrants After Woman Burned Alive on Subway: ‘There’s Nothing You…’

Tom Homan, President-elect Donald Trump’s new border czar, criticized Democrats after an illegal immigrant from Guatemala allegedly killed a woman by setting her on fire on a New York City subway.

The Trump administration deported 33-year-old perpetrator Sebastian Zapeta just days after he crossed the border illegally in 2018. It is unclear where he returned to the United States illegally.

Tom Homan beats up illegal aliens

During his appearance on Fox News, Homan called the horrific crime “another example of an illegal alien killing an American citizen.”

Trump’s border czar stressed that such crimes have become a “daily occurrence,” saying, “You know, because there are historic numbers of criminal aliens walking the streets because of this administration’s policies and sanctuary jurisdictions and lax immigration enforcement.”

Tom Homan blames Alejandro Mayorkas and Kathy Hochul

According to Homan, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has blocked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers from arresting and deporting undocumented immigrants unless they have already been convicted of a serious offense.

He also criticized Alejandro Mayorkas, the head of the Department of Homeland Security, and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul for allegedly helping to let Zapeta roam freely in New York and make the city a “haven” for illegal immigrants would have made.

“ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) has its hands tied… Gov. Hochul, shame on you,” he declared, claiming that the New York governor “supports protected status” in that state.

He accused them of “welcoming” thousands of illegal immigrants to New York. “Governor Hochul… there’s nothing you can say that will fix things in New York.”

Illegal immigration remained a central issue in the 2024 presidential election. Trump and his supporters stoked baseless accusations that migrants in Springfield, Ohio, were eating cats and dogs. He also promised to implement a mass deportation program.

Here’s what police said about the attack

According to police, the attack occurred around 7:30 a.m. Sunday on a stopped F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station in Brooklyn. Without speaking to the victim, the suspect approached the woman, who appeared to be sleeping, and set her clothes on fire with a lighter.

After the attack, the suspect was seen on camera sitting on a nearby bench at the train station.

A transit police officer also appeared to walk past the burning woman while appearing to speak on the radio. However, the officer did not immediately offer help or make any attempts to catch the perpetrator.
