New York Jets vs. Jacksonville Jaguars second half thread

The first half of the New York Jets’ Week 15 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is set and the Jets are six points behind the Jaguars at 13-7.

The Jets opened the game on defense and, in classic Jets form, immediately delivered a touchdown to Mac Jones and a Jaguars offense that had not scored more than 10 points in three of their previous four games. The decisive play was a penalty saved by Sauce Gardner in the end zone on third down, giving the Jaguars a first down inside the three-yard line when it looked like the Jaguars would be forced to kick a field goal, after Mac Jones was sacked on the play.

The Jets’ offense responded with a touchdown drive of their own, aided by a fourth down conversion on a fake punt. Aaron Rodgers connected with Garrett Wilson on a 22-yard strike in the end zone, tying the score at 7-7 late in the first quarter.

On the Jaguars’ next drive, a Jet not named Brandin Echols intercepted a pass for the first time this season when Jalen Mills fired a Mac Jones bomb deep in Jets territory.

The first quarter ended with the Jets on the move and facing a third-and-long midfielder. The Jets were forced to punt and the Jaguars took control inside their own 20-yard line early in the second quarter. The Jaguars began a long, tiring drive that took up most of the second quarter. They got the ball inside the Jets’ 10-yard line before having to settle for a short field goal and a 10-7 lead with less than three minutes left in the first half.

The Jets went three times out of bounds on their next possession, giving the ball back to the Jaguars for one final drive. The Jaguars pushed deep into Jets territory, aided by another costly penalty from Sauce Gardner, before settling for a short field goal as time expired. That ended another brutal half of Jets football as the tank continues.

The Jets go into the locker room trailing a bad Jaguars team at 13-7.
