The New York Jets are in Miami, Florida today to take on the Miami Dolphins. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST.

The 5-7 Miami Dolphins are currently in second place in the AFC East Division. The Dolphins suffered a 30-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers last week. Prior to that loss, the Dolphins had won three straight with Tua Tagovailoa at center after struggling badly early in the season when he left with a concussion. The Dolphins have completely dominated the rivalry with the Jets recently, winning 13 of the last 16 games between the two teams. The Jets haven’t won a game in Miami since 2015.

The Jets have found new ways to lose games almost weekly. They often came into games late only to come up short again and again. Six of the Jets’ nine losses came by a margin of one point. Despite their often competitive play, the Jets simply couldn’t get out of each other’s way. They have lost eight of their last nine games and any playoff hopes are long gone. Even their once-proud defense has fallen apart in recent games and is currently operating as one of the worst defenses in the NFL. This is a Jets squad that is just starting to play out the string and is trying to put together a decent tape for whoever they end up playing for next year.

There’s little reason to believe the Jets have what it takes to pull out a win against a Dolphins team that has dominated them over the last decade. However, you just never know. Even bad teams sometimes perform brilliantly. Let’s see how much pride the Jets still have.
