Crocodile Dundee
Burt the saltwater crocodile, who starred in the 1986 Australian film classic “Crocodile Dundee,” has died aged at least 90. The crocodile’s death was announced by the Australian reptile park Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin, where Burt lived in his final years.

Burt was 5.1 meters/16 feet 8 inches tall and weighed 700 kg/1540 pounds. He also served as the model for the CGI crocodile in Wolf Creek director Greg McLean’s 2007 film Rogue. (Source: Instagram)

Panic room
Sony Pictures Television-owned Floresta has announced that it has begun development on a Brazilian TV adaptation of David Fincher’s acclaimed 2002 thriller Panic Room. In pre-production, the project will offer a “fresh take” on the thriller, with popular Brazilian actress Isis Valverde set to star.

Gabriela Amaral Almeida will direct the film about a recently widowed woman and her young daughter who seek refuge in a secret panic room after burglars break into their home. What they don’t know is that the intruders are after something hidden in the room they’ve locked themselves in. (Source: Variety)

Digital publications
Paramount Pictures has set the digital release date for Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II for December 24th. The title can be rented on platforms or purchased as a premium video-on-demand release. It is likely that the film will not see a purchase/rental price drop until its CD release on March 4th. This release will contain deleted scenes and six featurettes.

After debuting to a disastrous $4.5 million in theaters on its opening weekend on December 13, New Line Cinema’s anime feature film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim fell 72% to just $4.5 million last weekend $1.25 million, the title will be available digitally at home on December 27th.

Attack on Titan: The Final Attack
Crunchyroll has announced the release date for the US theatrical debut of the anime film “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack.” The film combines the last two episodes of the successful anime series into an oversized cinematic experience.

The film is scheduled to hit U.S. and Canadian theaters on February 19, 2025 for one day only. The film will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dubbed.

Star Trek: Lower Decks
Paramount+ finished airing its animated comedy Star Trek: Lower Decks this week, and to celebrate the show’s end, it released a mockumentary clip featuring stars Jack Quaid and Tawny Newsome antics in the recording booth while series creators Mike McMahan tries to keep them on track.
