MEDFORD, Ore. – Our NewsWatch 12 family is sad to announce the passing of our former morning and midday anchor Ana Orsini.

We are devastated by the unexpected death. Ana served as a morning/lunch anchor for three years. She’s done everything from covering major wildfires to helping shelter animals find their forever homes.

Her career began in 2018 in Lubbock, Texas, where she worked as an anchor/reporter on everything from Texas Tech basketball to a month-long investigative series about a bridal store fraud.

Words from former colleagues:

“Ana Orsini was a force to be reckoned with and she let you know it. She was brave and strong and was willing to try anything during my time with her at KDRV. When I first met Ana, she was sitting at her desk dressed head to toe in pink. She was bold and fearless and knew how to run a newsroom with just her eyes. She never shied away from being her authentic self and pushed others to find her path. Ana inspired me to be everything I am today in the news. I will never forget the wisdom she gave me and the happiness I feel for being her friend. Ana inspired me to be everything I am today in the news. I will never forget the wisdom she gave me and the happiness I feel for being her friend. Aside from her fortitude, Ana was one of the most compassionate people I have ever met, and you can feel that in every aspect of her life. She led with a genuine heart full of love for the people in her newsroom, in her community and for people she had not yet met. She was even there for animals she didn’t know. If she could take in every stray dog in the world, she would say, “Build me a pink sanctuary.” I am incredibly grateful that I can take a piece of Ana with me wherever I go, and that will never change. Ana taught me to stand up for myself, seek the truth, and bring justice to every story I tell. She also taught me how to find and believe in my own experience, strength and hope before I knew it existed. “I hope I never forget the lessons she taught me and continues to teach me every day,” said Ashe Hajek, producer at WBIR and former morning producer at KDRV.
