Why Tyler Fulghum isn’t betting on the Cowboys

Tyler Fulghum explains his shocking decision to pick the Panthers to win and cover the spread.

Bryce Young OVER 19.5 passes completed (even)

Loza: Young is by no means an efficient passer, but his completion percentage has improved since he was reinstated as the team’s starter in Week 8. The second-year signal caller has also managed at least 19 completions in three straight games since the Carolina Panthers’ 11 bye week. In fact, he recorded exactly 19 completions while facing a strong Philadelphia Eagles defense that allowed the fifth-lowest completion percentage to date in 2024.

Given this week’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, the chances for Young to improve on that total are high. Dallas’ secondary brought back Trevon Diggs last Monday, but the defense simultaneously lost rising star linebacker DeMarvion Overshown. The compromised pass rush works in Young’s favor.

Kyler Murray OVER 224.5 passing yards (-110) and Michael Wilson OVER 34.5 receiving yards (-105)

Loza: Murray has been a frustrating hit or miss all season. He fell below 215 passing yards in seven games while managing over 250 passing yards in six games. However, his numbers have improved as the schedule has softened over time. The Arizona Cardinals quarterback has exceeded the above limit in four consecutive attempts and has averaged 267 yards per game since Week 10. He expects to put up similar numbers against a banged-up New England Patriots defense that has given up 7.4 yards per attempt and generated the sixth-fewest sacks of the season (27).

And Wilson deserves praise after emerging as Arizona’s No. 2 WR. The Stanford product ranks second on the team in routes run and touchdowns scored, having rushed for over 50 yards in three straight games. With Marvin Harrison Jr. likely to be shadowed by Christian Gonzalez, Wilson should benefit from softer coverage. The Patriots have allowed an average of 227 yards per game.

Dopp: “Sunshine ahead” for Hubbard through fantasy playoffs

Daniel Dopp, Mike Clay and Field Yates explain why Chuba Hubbard is such a great fantasy playoff option.

Chuba Hubbard OVER 99.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards

Double: Chuba has been splitting time with Jonathon Brooks in recent weeks, but that will no longer be the case in Week 15 as Brooks was unfortunately placed back on injured reserve with another ACL tear. Here’s hoping Brooks can come back stronger than ever in 2025. But first, let’s focus on the volume Hubbard will see against the Cowboys. Hubbard and Adam Thielen are basically it THE At this point, Carolina’s offense is.

Hubbard’s volume is wild, and his production has, in most cases, followed suit. Don’t let some of his numbers early in the season convince you that this prop is out of reach. The Panthers have played much better over the last five weeks than they did at the beginning of the season, and Hubbard has been a big part of that, posting two games of more than 100 total yards in the last four games. Keep in mind that Brooks split time with Hubbard in two of those games, which won’t matter moving forward.

Rico Dowdle OVER 17.5 Rush Attempts (-135)

Double: Dowdle has experienced a rapid boom in volume over the past three weeks. He averaged 12.5 carries per game for nine weeks, but in the last three weeks those numbers increased to 19, 22 and 18. Now he’s going up against a Panthers team where running backs have carried the ball 445 times, the MOST of the year NFL. Carolina has also allowed the most rushing yards and the second-most rushing touchdowns this season.

And to reiterate how much volume he gets, virtually no one else in the Cowboys backfield touches the ball. Since Week 12, Dowdle has 59 carries. Ezekiel Elliott has six and Hunter Luepke has three. Dowdle will get the bulk of the workload in this Week 15 showdown.

Wide receiver props

Adam Thielen OVER 49.5 yards (-130)

Double: Thielen has been on a roll over the past two weeks, turning 21 targets into 17 receptions for 201 yards and a touchdown. His veteran presence has been huge for second-year quarterback Bryce Young, and I expect that connection to continue in Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Not only has Thielen reached this mark in three straight games, but the Cowboys have also allowed 17 different wide receivers to reach this mark so far this season. In fact, they’ve allowed seven wideouts to reach that number since Week 10 alone, suggesting that this defense hasn’t gotten much better over the course of the season.

If you want to get frisky, you can also combine this with Thielen’s total reception line of 5+ catches, which currently sits at +115. Given Thielen’s recent book and Young’s penchant for finding the old man, you might consider this bet. It’s my favorite off the slate.

Keenan Allen OVER 4.5 receiving yards (-125) and OVER 49.5 receiving yards (-125)

Loza: Allen’s production has increased since Thomas Brown took over the Chicago Bears’ playcalling duties, averaging 5.6 catches and 63 receiving yards per game in his last three appearances. Ironically, Allen posted his best stats of the season in Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings. Allen converted 9 of 15 goals for 86 yards and a score.

It’s unlikely he’ll hit double-digit targets this run, but it’s worth noting that the veteran’s target percentage has skyrocketed over the final half of the season, reaching 90% in five of seven games. Additionally, the Vikings’ secondary remains generous, having allowed the most catches (193) and the most receiving yards (2,501) to opposing WRs throughout 2024. Allen expects at least five grabs and around 55 receiving yards in Week 15.
