NFL fans urged Russell Wilson to slide after the Steelers QB took a massive hit against the Ravens

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson coughed up the football after taking a massive hit from Baltimore Ravens safety Ar’Darius Washington in the first half of Saturday’s game.

Wilson, perhaps running a little recklessly as he tried to make a big play, decided against slipping and ran right into Washington, who didn’t hesitate to fire him up with a devastating tackle.

Wilson made a nice run into open space on second down, but instead of sliding inside the 5-yard line, the veteran quarterback seemed determined to fight for six points. Washington knocked him to the ground with a brutal blow to the midsection, causing the football to bounce free. Baltimore was able to regain the ball, making Wilson’s decision to stay upright and absorb Washington’s hit even more costly.

Fans on social media weren’t too pleased with Wilson’s decision-making, especially given how he had put himself in danger, and pleaded with the 36-year-old to give in and slide in such situations.
