NFL legend’s son spreads ‘disgusting’ health rumors about his father: ‘You have no right’

On Tuesday, Larry Fitzgerald Sr. shared on social media that Randy Moss is battling liver cancer.

Last week, ESPN announced that Moss would be taking “extended time off” to address “a personal health challenge.” The extent of the medical problem was not disclosed, so Fitzgerald’s announcement came as a shock.

Fitzgerald wrote on X: “At the 66th NFF Hall of Fame ceremony here in Las Vegas, I just learned that Vikings HOF Randy Moss has liver cancer. Let’s show the power of prayer and pull Moss through this situation. I love you, Randy.

Moss’ son Thaddeus, a former LSU tight end, responded to the now-deleted post:

“This is disgusting. You do not have the right to attempt to make private matters public for the sake of engagement. I don’t think my dad is talking to you, so check your damn sources.”

Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre published a post on X calling for prayers for Fitzgerald following the alleged diagnosis. Squidward further refuted the report.

“Brett, we really appreciate the support,” Thaddeus wrote. “That is not true. My father will speak to the world when he is ready.”

Before taking a leave of absence, Moss recorded a video asking his followers for prayers.

“During the holiday week, your boy is struggling with something inside,” Moss said. “I just ask all prayer warriors to lay their blessed hands on me and my family during these difficult times.”
