NFL scores, live updates: Buccaneers take on Saints, Falcons play Panthers and the NFC South title is on the line

The NFC South champion is the final piece of the puzzle in the playoff picture on the NFC side of the 2024 NFL playoff series, and the winner will be either the 9-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the 8-8 Atlanta Falcons. For Tampa Bay, it’s simple: beat the New Orleans Saints or break a tie and win the division. But if the Buccaneers lost the game, the Falcons would win the division with a win over the Carolina Panthers. If both clubs lose, the Bucs take the division crown. Both Atlanta and Tampa Bay enter Week 18 as heavy home favorites over the two clubs at the bottom of their division.

Elsewhere in the NFL, in the early window of Week 18, the Bills (at the Patriots) and the Eagles (at the Giants) are both ranked No. 2 in their respective conferences and will rest some starters ahead of the upcoming Wild playoff. Card weekend. That includes Philadelphia resting Saquon Barkley, who is 101 yards short of breaking Eric Dickerson’s NFL single-season rushing record. In the NFC, the Rams, Packers and Commanders have all secured postseason spots, but can maintain or improve their ranking with wins in Week 18.
