The Washington Commanders’ final game was a double celebration for safety Jeremy Reaves!

The 28-year-old NFL star proposed to his longtime girlfriend Mikaela Worley courtside just moments after the Commanders defeated the Atlanta Falcons 30-24 in overtime to earn a spot in the to secure the playoffs.

In a video of the proposal shared by the NFL’s official account on Instagram, Reaves is seen on one knee with his ring box open while Worley is crouched in shock with his hands over his mouth.

Worley, a medical assistant and volleyball graduate from the University of Louisiana Monroe, then says “yes” and nods his head before the duo share an emotional hug.

Reaves, who has played for the Commanders since 2018, made his excitement clear and then let out a loud scream as he pointed to the cheering crowd and addressed Worley.

“Post-Clinch Proposal! A moment they will never forget 💍🥹,” the NFL captioned the shared Instagram post with Reaves.

After the suggestion, Reaves revealed that the decisive moment depends on whether the Commanders win the game.

“I hate losing, so there’s no way I could have done that in the right frame of mind after a loss,” Reaves said, according to the Associated Press. “That thing burned a hole in my pocket.”

“She deserves it. I can’t say enough about her,” Reaves added of Worley. “When I was unwell last year, she was there every day to pick me up. She showed up. This is my best friend. I’ve been my best friend since high school.”

“You can tell a lot about someone when they go through the worst and how they deal with it,” Reaves continued. “I went through the worst last year when I tore my cruciate ligament. Couldn’t do anything, couldn’t be my own boss and she was the crutch there when I couldn’t do it myself.”

Reaves also gushed about his bride-to-be in a Dec. 30 Instagram post, writing, “A year ago I was at my lowest point. A year later, you helped me to be my best again! Every time life has torn me down, you have built me ​​up.” I immediately got back up and breathed life into myself! Worley regularly attends Reaves’ games and shares snaps of herself supporting him on the sidelines.

In her latest Instagram Grid post, Worley posed with Reaves at the Commanders’ game against the New Orleans Saints, which the Commanders won 20-19.
