NFL Week 13 Results: Jets lose to Seahawks after failing to score a single point after halftime

The Seattle Seahawks didn’t have a perfect day and neither did their opponent, the New York Jets. But in the end, Geno Smith’s home opener in New York was a triumph for the Seahawks, as they cruised to a 26-21 win over a Jets team that started briskly but ended with the saddest of trumpets.

Both teams had big plays. First of all, we finally saw the connection between Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams that was promised after the Jets traded for Adams. The duo found each other on several plays, including a big touchdown in the first half. On the other side of the ball, the Seahawks’ special teams players went to lunch together for most of the first and second quarters, fumbled three kickoffs (recovering two) and allowed the Jets to score on a 99-yard TD return score. The Jets had 21 points at halftime.

But it seemed like the Seahawks had some magic in them today. Midway through the second quarter, with the Jets at the Seahawks’ 10-yard line, Rodgers threw an interception right to Seattle DE Leonard Williams. After a quick juggle (it was only the second INT of his career), the big man ran all the way back and scored a touchdown. The extra point was blocked, but the Seahawks managed to make a field goal to get within five points.

After halftime, both teams struggled to score, but the Seahawks finally broke through with about five minutes to play. The offense gave them a 26-21 lead, and in the final minute the defense stopped the Jets on fourth down. The Jets didn’t score a single point after halftime.

  • The Bengals aren’t done yet

  • With another TD, the Commanders increase the score against the Titans

  • Seahawks jets approach the tightrope

That touchdown and extra point gave the Seahawks a 26-21 lead over the Jets. With just over five minutes left, can the Jets pull something off?

  • Guess who intercepted again? Yes, it’s Kirk Cousins

It’s Cousins’ fourth interception of the day. If the Falcons leave Cousins on the tarmac when their plane takes off, I don’t think anyone would blame them.

  • The Bengals get smashed after the final Burrow turnover

Remember when I said Burrow’s interceptions wouldn’t help the Bengals catch up to the Steelers? This implicitly included stripping him of the ball, which he simply did. The Bengals now lose 41-

  • Zach Ertz scores the first Commanders points of the 2nd half

It took until the fourth quarter for WAS to finally score some points against the Titans in the second half.

  • Joe Burrow is picked up

The Bengals have less than 15 minutes to score at least 10 points against the Steelers. Burrow’s interception won’t help them.

  • This catch gave Justin Jefferson his fifth straight season with at least 1,000 receiving yards

  • If you missed Kirk Cousins’ first two terrible interceptions, here’s a third!

Yikes, Kirk. Just yikes. After that, don’t be surprised if we hear calls for Michael Penix Jr. to start at QB next week.

  • Intercept the Titans!

The Commanders have cooled off significantly since their four-touchdown first half, but the Titans still have a ways to go to catch up. Maybe this interception will help.

  • Hey, look, the Cardinals let Marvin Harrison Jr. do something!

  • “Just take the points” should become the fan chant in the stadiums

Instead of going for a field goal and a relatively easy three points, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald opted for it on fourth down. The Jets made a goal line stand and now the Seahawks scored no points from that drive.

  • George Pickens does more George Pickens things, e.g. B. being held responsible for unsportsmanlike conduct

George “Unsportsmanlike Conduct” Pickens raised another UC flag after this game. One of his teammates even came up to talk to him afterward and seemed to beg him to stop doing things that cost the team.

  • Kirk Cousins throws a terrible pick-six

  • Not a great day for the Vikings

There weren’t many highlights from the Vikings today, and for good reason: They didn’t do much. They are down 12-6 against the Cardinals and the fans are not happy.

  • This Russell Wilson statement is so old-fashioned that he’s literally never made it before

  • The Steelers-Bengals make history in their 110th game against each other

  • Drake Maye continues to impress
