Niners QB Joshua Dobbs is ready for the “audition” in the season finale against the Cardinals

Around this time last year, Dobbs had already played for three teams (Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings). He began the 2023 preseason with the Browns before being traded to Arizona before Week 1. He started the Cardinals’ first eight games and went 1-7.

However, his services were needed elsewhere as Kirk Cousins suffered an Achilles tendon injury. Minnesota traded for Dobbs, and he had a stunning debut in a win against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9. After his Vikings debut, Dobbs went 2-2 as a starter and had inconsistent outings.

He signed with the 49ers this offseason after San Francisco backup Sam Darnold agreed to terms with the Vikings.

Now that he has a chance to make an impression and make a new film, Dobbs is enjoying the process of being with a team for a change.

“I don’t feel like a different guy, but it’s definitely been good to be in one place all year long and work with the same terminology, the same teammates, the same coaches and just get consistent coaching under one formula Dobbs said. “So that was fun for me.”

Dobbs will get the opportunity to showcase his talent in Sunday’s season finale against the Cardinals at 4:25 p.m. ET.
