“Early this morning, between 7:30 and 7:40 am, a magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred here (Mulugu district). We also felt the tremors when we were in our apartment and went outside for safety reasons. However, the vibrations only lasted a very short time, around 6 to 8 seconds. We immediately alerted our official authorities, including MPDOs, MROs, MPOs and police personnel, and instructed them to assess whether there was any loss of life or property damage. No major incidents have been reported to date.”

However, officials have been directed to inspect dilapidated and makeshift houses. “We are currently waiting for their report. No major damage has been reported so far,” Mr Divakara said
