Noida-based startup asks employees if they are stressed, then fires those who said yes

YesMadam, the doorstep beauty service platform, has reportedly fired employees who were under stress after conducting a survey in the office. According to the LinkedIn post, the company informed employees via email of the termination, which was effective immediately.

The email states: “Dear Team, We recently conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress at work. Many of you expressed your concerns, which we deeply appreciate and respect. As a company committed to promoting a healthy and supportive work environment, we carefully considered the feedback. To ensure no one remains stressed at work, we made the difficult decision to separate employees who were experiencing significant stress.”

“This decision takes effect immediately and further details will be provided separately to affected employees. Thank you for your contributions,” it added.

The post was shared by Anushka Dutta, a UX copywriter at Yesmadam. In the caption, she wrote, “What’s happening at YesMadam? First you do a sample survey and then fire us overnight because we feel stressed? And not just me, 100 other people were laid off too.”

Several people commented on the post; Some expressed disbelief at such a terrible move by the companies while others termed it as a PR stunt by the company. “This is the most inhumane way of firing people, Ashu Arora Jha YesMadam. You pretended you cared by sending out a “stress survey” based on which you decided to fire people. This is incredible and crazy; it speaks about the toxic work culture and the services you offer. The startups that launch based on toxicity die the fastest. If it’s true then I hope people boycott your brand, both as employees and as end customers, and if it’s a PR stunt then I also hope people do the same because there are better ways, Setting trends,” wrote one of the LinkedIn users.

ABP Live reached out to Dutta for more details on these unusual layoffs, but she has not yet responded. It’s not clear whether the layoffs are real or an elaborate PR stunt. We’ll update as soon as we hear anything.
