In addition to the standard GeForce RTX 5090, NVIDIA is also launching its special “D” variant for China. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D was expected to launch, but it looks like the company has opted for the same specs this time, suggesting a moderate clock adjustment or a software lock-in.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D GPU has already been listed by various AIBs including GALAX and Colorful. As for the specifications, the graphics card features the same GB202 GPU chip with a total of 21,760 CUDA cores. The memory specs are also the same as the RTX 5090 with 32GB of 28Gbps GDDR7 memory and a total bandwidth of 1792GB/s. The cards are also available in custom variants, but the Founders Edition model will not be available in China.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090D was the first special variant for China that complies with US export regulations. The model featured reduced CUDA and Tensor cores, no overclocking, and also had a lower TGP set, although some models use the full 450W TGP. The core specs won’t be changed this time, which is good to see, and it looks like other changes will be easy to overcome with BIOS hacks and mods once the models hit the market.

There will be no restriction on custom variants as GALAX has listed its 1-Click OC model with a 3-fan and 3.5-slot design on its website, while Colorful has the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D in both Neptune ( Liquid cooling) and Vulcan (air cooling) flavors.

As for the price, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D will have the same MSRP as the RTX 5090, but for the Chinese market. The standard card will have an MSRP of $1999, which in China is around 14,999 RMB including taxes. Since these are customized models, the price will be slightly higher.
