NYPD says ‘not a terrorist attack’ after 10 shootings outside New York venue

The New York Police Department (NYPD) reassured the public that it was “not a terrorist attack” after ten people were shot outside the Amazura nightclub in Jamaica, Queens on New Year’s Day – the same day a terrorist attack was carried out in New Orleans .

At around 11:18 p.m., officers received several 911 calls about “multiple people” being shot at a private event. According to the police, there were around 90 people at the venue for the event.

According to police, three to four men approached the venue and opened fire more than 30 times toward a group standing in line outside the venue, striking several vehicles.

The men ran west on 91st Street to 143rd Place, where they got into a light-colored sedan with out-of-state license plates. Police said the shooting was “not a terrorist attack.”

The victims, six women and four men, were transported to area hospitals. None of the victims are in critical condition and are expected to survive.

There was a massive police and ambulance deployment outside the 4,000-person Amazura nightclub, which regularly hosts DJs and performances.

The NYPD told Fox News that police are searching for a gray Infiniti sedan that fled the scene.

The shooting capped a violent New Year’s Day that began with a terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans that killed 15 people and a Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas that left one person dead came.
